Collection comprises the wartime reminiscences and stories of Private Burge. Also includes form guides for two horse race meetings, newspaper cuttings and a booklet printed to commemorate the birthday of King George VI.

Private Burge served with the 19th Wellington Battalion departing with the First Echelon of the 2nd NZEF. He rose to the rank of Lance Corporal during 1940. After being home on furloug Burge then served with the War Graves Commision.
