Shows various styles of car travelling on the road, and photographers taking pictures. Auckland city and Mt Eden are visible in the background. Photograph taken on 26 May 1959, by an unidentified photographer for the Free Lance.
Inscriptions: Verso - top centre - Bridge Opening. Traffic coming towards the toll plaza from the Bridge an hour after its opening. Over 3,600 cars passed over it in the first hour of its public operation.
