Comprises photocopy of the original shipboard diary of the voyage of the Tongariro, together with a typed transcript and explanatory notes made in 1999 by Terry Stock, the great grandson of David Blackadder. The diary records daily events from 1 March to 23 March, and weather and progress of the ship only until 15 April. The Tongariro arrived in Port Chalmers on 17 April 1884.
