Willis Street, Wellington city, 1929. Shows business premises on both sides of the street. Also shows pedestrians, cars, a horse drawn cart, and trams. The shop of Victor Brownson, selling watches and jewellery, is in the left foreground, on the corner of Boulcott Street. A building labelled "Mandel's Buildings" is on the far right. Photographer unidentified.
Notes on back of file print read: Majestic Cinema is still under construction (built 1928-29). Scaffolding (upper left hand corner) shows that construction of stage is still going on. The large neon sign on the facade has not yet been attached. First listing in Wises for the Majestic is 1930. Hibernia House (Nimmos Pianos), cnr Willis & Bond sts, not yet built (Dec 1929 under constr).
