Letters to and from Henry Samuel Chapman, most of which are concerned with his work for the New Zealand Company, the newspaper, the New Zealand Journal, his decision to leave for New Zealand and his appointment as a judge by the Colonial Office. Correspondents include include his father, his aunt Fanny, Captain Robert Fitzroy, associates in the legal profession and in the New Zealand Company.
