Description

View of the settlement of Kurunui, Thames, looking towards Kurunui Hill. Shows the Kurunui Hotel, buildings in the town, and the chimney of a gold mining battery. A bank of the Firth of Thames is visible in the foreground. Photograph taken in 1868, by Henry Frith.

The negatives at ½-065407-F, ½-065408-F, and ½-065409-F fit together to form a panorama.

Kurunui township is located in the vicinity of is now known as Kuranui Bay, Thames North.
