Description

In the first of these two scenes a happy, slim, and energetic Tuvaluan child arrives in New Zealand and is greeted by a fat man offering him giant sweets and wanting to take his money. In the second a miserly, skinny doctor clutches on to dialysis equipment and asks for a passport, as the same child, who is now fat and collapsed on the floor, feebly beckons for treatment with one finger. Refers to a Tuvalu man who created an ethical dilemma for doctors when legislation stipulated they must stop treating the man because his immigration status was not resolved, yet ceasing dialysis treatment would cause him to die.
