Poster advising ways in which railway workshop staff can co-operate to avoid wasting materials: Suspend overhead air hoses and leads; turn off light when not required; pick up bolts, split pins, washers etc before they are swept up; put metal offcuts into the appropriate bin to save time (brass, copper, aluminium, or steel); when making washers, cut correctly to avoid waste.
According to "New Zealand Railways magazine", 1 February 1936, "great care was taken to have the sketches technically accurate, and [the] design is based on actual photographs of operations in N.Z. Railway Workshops' practice".
