This cartoon is about fuel conservation. The title refers to a popular song, 'These foolish things remind me of you'.In the first scene a man has had a car accident. Another man asks whether he can siphon of the rest of the petrol out of his wrecked car as he won't be needing it now. The second scene features a traffic cop stopping a speeding car. The driver protests that he was only doing 50 mph, but the traffic cop points out that it is a 30 mile per hour zone. In the final scene a parliamentary driver is struggling driving a tandem bicycle with Prime Minister Kirk seated on the back. An onlooker is telling another man that the PM did away with his official car but didn't want the driver to lose his job.
