- Description
Three images of Ruth Richardson. In the first she is explaining the economy as if it were simple and adaptable bicycle gearing; in the second, she is riding a bicycle with no hands. The cycle has a pennant marked Economy and Richardson is exclaiming "Elegant. Runs itself. Stable. No articial support." In the third panel, tanks have shot down a wall marked US - EC trade wars, causing Richardson and her bicyle to crash, with the comment "But vulnerable to external distortion". The implication is that Richardson is oversimplifying economic issues. There is also a pun on the book title 'Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance'.
