NZ sapper, identified as Spr Powrick 5 NZ Fd Park, holding a captured Nazi paratroopers flag after the evacuation from Crete. Taken in Egypt circa 1941 by an official photographer.
Other - Army caption reads - This maori proudly displays a swastika, one of those captured and used by our men to hoodwink the enemy into dropping supplies. He is just as proud of his Aussie hat.
