Attributed by vendor to James Crowe Richmond.
Known to the family of the vendor as "Mokau River", despite pencilled note on verso: 'Wairoa Gorge by J C Richmond'.
Richmond also visited and drew the Wairau Gorge, Marlborough, in 1864. This view may be of the Wairau Gorge.
