Description

Profile portrait of Hone Heke. He wears a cap on his head, two cloaks, and holds a musket in his right hand. The lower image is a view across the Bay of Islands, looking towards hills with houses along the lower slopes. There are sailing ships and waka in the water. May show Russell after it was sacked in 1845.
