Description

Replies to Selwyn from bishops in the Anglican and American episcopalian churches on a circular letter, issued by Selwyn, who as Bishop of Lichfield, was appointed Corresponding Secretary for the Anglican Communion at the Lambeth Conference 1867. The circular letter (not in folder) requests the bishops' opinion on the fitness of a public protest to the Vatican Council of 1871 regarding its assertion of papal claims, principally of infallibility
