There are illustrations of the Anchor clamp and ratchet, a method for setting end corner posts, styles of 6-wire fences, wire-bound gates, the Anchor fence hurdle, ornamental fences (six designs shown), and residence gates. Includes photographs of staff at the Anchor Fence company, with buildings of the Massey-Harris Company adjacent. There are also photographs of fences on the properties of S I Ffitch esq Dallington, and H P Slater esq Sandilands, New Brighton Road. Page 30 shows testimonials from S I Ffitch (Dallington, Christchurch), W B Clarkson (Riccarton, Christchurch), Gilbert Jackson (Christchurch), H P Slater (Christchurch). The cover shows an illustration of a farmer surveying an injured horse lying with its legs entangled in a barbed wire fence while another horse and sheep look on. Description: Photographs taken during the royal tour of New Zealand made by the Prince of Wales in 1920. Many of the images are of military inspections and displays by school children. There are also displays of Maori dancing and singing, the sailors of the HMS Renown, on which the prince had travelled , prior to their soccer match in Dunedin, the prince addressing the crowds etc. A number of the images are in two-part panoramas. Also included are four scenic photographs by the New Zealand Tourist Department which may have been taken in 1903. The photographer for the tour photographs was Guy. Description: Photographs taken by an unidentified photographer, possibly between 1927 and 1938. Consists of 45 photographic prints containing 51 images, associated with H B Turbott's career as a Medical Officer of Health. These include eight small prints possibly cut from a proof sheet, and 37 quarter plate prints, 10 of which are pasted on paper with typescript captions. The photographs, taken in rural areas, show housing conditions in Māori communities. Many homes are small and in poor condition. PAColl-10760-36 shows images of houses without windows constructed from wood and corrugated iron. Annotations on the reverse of PAColl-10760-34 identify two tuberculosis hut images as taken on the East Coast. Other locations are not known and people are unidentified. Two pieces of photographic ephemera, envelopes, are also included. One envelope is addressed to "Dr. H B Turbott, Health Dept [Department], Hamilton", and originally contained two prints depicting tuberculosis huts. A postmark dates the envelope to 1938. The second envelope is stamped "Department of Health New Zealand". Pencil annotations read "Lambert's photos". This could be a reference to Dr Sylvester Maxwell Lambert who produced a report on Māori health in 1938. Title supplied by Library. On the outside of the letter it is addressed "Kia te Koreneho Minita, kei Waitangi i tuhia ki te Aute". The writer identifies himself as Ngāti Marau, based at Te Roto-a-Tara, Te Aute. The letter speaks of progress on the building of a church and requiring more materials such as nails and wood. Also mentions writing a letter to Matiu.
