A caricature of an eminent Army officer, MBE, and early member of the Wanganui Club. Shows a middle-aged man drinking at a counter, smoking a pipe, and two rows of soldiers marching in his memory behind him.

J W Barry was Commander of N Force on Norfolk Island in 1942-1943.
