Mere Tupe-o-tu, a Maori woman from Taranaki, photographed, probably in the late 1860s, by E S Richards of Wellington.
This woman is probably related to Herewini Te Tupe, of Otaraua Hapu. The photograph was taken by E S Richards before his partnership with William Batt in the 1870s (see PA2-1567).
