Horse drawn coach and passengers, alongside the Athenree Post Office and Athenree homestead, Tauranga district. Adela Stewart is sitting on the box-seat next to the driver and husband Hugh is standing on the shell path between the two ladies. Behind is Anthenree homestead where they lived. Source of descriptive information - Information relating to Adela and Hugh Stewart, and approximate date of photograph, provided by Library client.
Hugh was appointed postmaster in June 1889. He built the post office himself. They left the district in 1906.
