Description

Political cartoon by Punch's chief cartoonist, John Tenniel, published during the American Civil War 1861-1865. It shows a Confederate soldier presenting a promissory note to Abraham Lincoln. The note says `I promise to subdue the South in 90 days. Abe Lincoln'.

Extended Title - Mr South to Mr North. `Your "Ninety Days" promissory note isn't taken up yet, Sirree!'
