A sketch showing a row of eight houses each is their own piece of land, at the base of a hill slope. There are two stands of Norfolk pines on the hilltop ridge.
There is a virtually identical picture reproduced in Theodore Morton Jones' diary (Manuscripts qMS-1075), page 214a. The title beneath that version says that it is from a sketch by Lieut Gaynor, 99th Regiment.
