Description

Second Lieutenant Charles Hazlitt Upham VC being congratulated by his platoon sergeant after the presentation of the award. Photographed by an unknown photographer in November 1941.

Upham was awarded his first Victoria Cross for valour at Maleme, Galatos, and Sphakia, Crete between 22-30 May 1941. He recieved the actual medal on 14 October 1941.
