Political drama in the anti tour march in Wellington protesting against the proposed All Black tour to South Africa. Marchers outfitted in cardboard riot police costumes surround a barbed wire wrapped rugby ball. Photographed on the 13th of April 1985 by Evening Post photographer Greg King
The protest was against the apartheid regime in South Africa. These marchers refer to the protests resulting from the Springbok tour of New Zealand in 1981 when the games were played behind barbed wire barriers, and protesters and police battled it out on the streets. The All Black tour of South Africa planned for 1985 was cancelled
