Norgrove, Edgar Roydon, 1878-1964

Born on 21 August 1878 at Havelock; died 14 July 1964 at Blenheim. He was the son of Oscar and Edith Norgrove. He served in the Blenheim Volunteer Fire Brigade for 56 years from 8 August 1900. (See paper letter from descendant Helen McNaught at S.AR.002.002.003.002-v01; 3 November 2006 - file in Ephemera Room). He is said to have been one of four employees who enlisted together for World War I, from Billy Carr's Blenheim hardware store and building firm. The electoral roll for 1928 lists him as a carpenter of Wairau, Marlborough.
