Harmston's Circus

British circus formed by William Benjamin Harmston in England in 1847. Later run by his son William Batty Harmston (1844-1893), then after his death by his widow Jane Evelyn Eldred (who married and ran the circus with the circus manager Robert Love), and then later again by William Batty Harmston's son, William George Harmston, until about 1936.

The Harmston Circus was declared bankrupt in England in 1887 but was then reformed in San Francisco by William Batty Harmston and made its way by the mail steamer Alameda to Auckland in 1890.
