Shows a living room scene from the opera "Susanna's secret", by Wolf-Ferrari. A figure stands in each of the three doorways, at left, centre and right. The room is furnished with a chaise-longue, a circular table and chairs.
Raymond Boyce made set design drawings for the New Zealand Opera Company, from the late 1950s onwards. It is uncertain if the Opera Company performed "Susanna's secret" in 1959; their only known production of it was in 1955, when Boyce was not working with them. Donald Munro sang in the 1955 production. This design drawing may be for a production that was proposed but never realised.
