Watercolours show three mounted members of the Taranaki Mounted Rifles holding pistols (one is firing his). At the bottom of the page is a watercolour of the Maori guard room, based on a component of the illustrated page by George Sherriff, in the "Graphic" (London), 8th April 1882, page 340. The photograph shows a portrait of Trooper Coffey in uniform, in a studio setting.
