Man dressed as the Mad Hatter, photographed between 1856-1889 by William James Harding, probably in Wanganui. He stands alongside a chair and wears a top hat, a short waistcoat, a shirt, patched pants with a clock face belt buckle, and long toed shoes. He holds an umbrella in one hand. Studio backdrops consist of a skirting board, a curtain and a painted screen depicting an avenue and a church.
