Formerly dated as 1864-1870 but it seems Joseph and Mary Ann wed in 1882 so image is likely to be later than 1882 (www.bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz)

Source of descriptive information - inscription and also library client. Formerly described as being John Dutton Powdrell and Mrs Powdrell but inscription reads and client confirms this is his brother Joseph.

Inscriptions: Verso - In Pencil and very faded - Joseph Dutton Powdrell and his wife Probably came to Hawkes Bay 1857 and another note also very faded - From Powdrell letters given by M A D Powdrell, Hawera 19/7/48
