Graduated with an MSc in chemistry from University of Aucklnad in 1964 and gained her PhD from Massey in 1968. Professional Research Fellow, Christchurch School of Medicine (2000). Received CNZM for services to science at the Queen's Birthday and Diamond Jubilee Honours 2012.
