- Description
Shows a street scene looking from a bridge towards an ornate stone gateway. Above the arched gateway is a crest in bas-relief, and the dates in Roman numerals: 1682-1887. In the foreground two soldiers and two other pedestrians walk along the road leading to the gateway.
The gateway was designed by Vauban and built in 1682. The significance of the 1887 date is unknown.
