This locomotive was constructed at Petone in July 1924, from a standard Fordson 22hp tractor attached to a patent underframe supplied by the Adamson Motor Company of Birmingham, Alabama. It was used for light shunting in various parts of the North Island until the 1940s. Source: "Cavalcade of New Zealand Locomotives", by A N Palmer & W W Stewart.
