Description: Photograph album containing 22 black and white photographs taken by an unidentified photographer [probably Sister Euphemia Doull] between the years of 1922 and 1927. The album has a dedication from "Phem" to "Janet" on the inside front cover. The photographs show the Presbyterian Mission; school children; indigenous and introduced flora; rivers between Maungapohatu and Matahi; and a journey on foot and horses by a group of women with assistance from locals. Identified individuals include Mr Hay, Miss Bruce, Nurse Doull, Rua [Rua Kēnana Hepetipa?], Te Paire, Miss Shannon, Miss Croft, Mr Black, Rangipaea (Rua's daughter) with two of her sons, Ewhi (Effie) and her mother Mamaku, Miss Finlayson, Tenuia Haami, Tahoe, Miss Clark, Mr W Lock, moderator Mr Kilpatrick and his wife, and school children Teki, Wiremu, Matewai and Te Waiti. Some photographs have accompanying handwritten captions identifying persons and locations. Title supplied by Library.
