Description

View of Whakatane, showing the sign for the shop of George Creeke (grocer and baker) behind a small building on the water's edge. A group of people are standing on a small promontory, with a laden barge coming towards the camera. To the left there are large warehouses. All the buildings are on a narrow stretch of land between high cliffs and the river. Photograph taken by William A Price between 1900 and 1910.
