High angle view overlooking the settlement of Upper Hutt taken between 1909 and March 1914. Shows commercial buildings on main street surrounded by houses and farmland. The long two storey building in the centre is probably the Provincial Hotel beside the premises of Benge and Pratt. Opposite is the two storey Post Office building. On far left of frame is a church, probably St Joseph's Catholic Church. Inforeground is the railway line. In the background is the Hutt River below hills. Taken by an unidentified photographer.
