Shows two trees standing side by side in the foreground, in front of a hilly landscape. The hill in the middle distance is covered with bush. The view is from Matuku Pa, inland Patea, Wanganui
Mr Randall Springer of the Whanganui Historical Society has identified this as a view in the Mokai Patea Range east of Utiku, rather than Patea in Taranaki.
Dated from information from Taylor's Journal, supplied by Richard Steedman of Taumata Huaora Trust, 3 Nov. 2003. The five sketches at E-296-q-091-1, -091-8, -093-3 and -095-1 are all taken from the same vantage point so as to give a panoramic view
