Shows an ornate heading and a border. The breakfast menu includes: Findon Haddies, Ham & Eggs, Mutton cutlets & tomato sauce, Veal croquetees, Grilled steak and onions, Tripe fritters, Curry and rice, Cold York ham.
Maclure & Macdonald, London, were the lithographers (see inscription beneath image).
SS Aorangi was launched in 1883, and saw service on the passenger route between England and New Zealand, with accommodations for 80 first-class, 80 second-class, and 250 third-class passengers. The ship departed London on 30 November 1883 and arrived in Wellington 17 January 1884, so on 20 December would have been nearly half way through the voyage.
