- Description
Cartoon shows prime minister Michael Joseph Savage advising his ministers how to lure back the dog named "Taxpayer", by offering him the superannuation scheme and hiding the features such as Finance (a stinking fish), high housing costs and rents, high public works costs, and Unionism. Otherwise the dog will escape through the fence labelled "Elections" (presumed to be those of 1938).
The Labour cabinet ministers include Robert Semple, John A Lee and (probably) the Minister of Labour Tim Armstrong.
Inscription indicates that the cartoon was contributed to a newspaper.
