Description

Shows boats setting out to sea, from Island Bay, for four fishermen's funerals while men and women stand watching on the shore. Photograph taken by Sydney Charles Smith Sept 1933.

The fishing launch `Santina' foundered in Cook Strait on 25 September 1933. No trace of her 4 man crew was ever found.
