Description: A bush scene with stream amongst tree-ferns and tall trees in the background. The lyre bird in the foreground and gum trees in the background make the accuracy of the title improbable. Buvelot, the artist, is not known to have visited New Zealand. Previously published in the Illustrated Australian news as 'Haunt of the lyre-bird'. 24 December, 1879. The colours in the State Library of Victoria are brighter than in the Turnbull's copy.
