English portrait painter, born London. Exhibited at the Royal Academy and other English institutions between 1833 and 1874. Painted portraits of a number of Methodist ministers with New Zealand and South Pacific connectionsand engraved versions were published in the Methodist Magazine. Married Elizabeth Phillipps Rollings in 1835. They had five children. Both died at Maldon, Surrey. (Information by email from a descendant, Dee Helmore, England, January 2006).
