Shows a small hut surrounded by some bare trees and tree stumps, on the Taieri Plain. At top left is an inset scene of mountains, entitled "Mountaineousness" [sic].
From the sketchbook kept by Mantell during his journey down the South Island as Commissioner for the Extinguishment of Native Titles.
