Shows the dark interior of Waitomo Caves, with the glow of many glowworms. At lower right passengers sit in a full dinghy, and a shadowy figure at the bow points out the glowworms.
Dated from a photograph taken inside Wellington airport cafeteria, included in "Wellington Airport : official souvenir brochure, October 1959". This photograph is also reproduced in "Selling the dream; the art of early New Zealand tourism" eds Peter Alsop, Gary Stewart, Dave Bamford (2012), page 23.
