Sketch map of the river Mokau depicting several placenames along the length of the river such as Rotopotaka and Tapumaori; also indicates caves.
This copy is a photographic enlargement of the original manuscript (coloured) at rear of book by S P Smith, 'Notes of a journey from Taranaki to Mokau...' New Plymouth, 1858 (held at MS. SMI.1858).
Note reference reads 'Green - forest, red - paths' however colours indistinguishable on these copies.
Similar to but not identical with ms map held by New Plymouth Public Library (see photocopy MapColl-832.17at/1858/Acc.644).
