Group including Kirihi Te Riri Maihi Kawiti (far left) and David Henry Graham (far right) in the Northland region alongside the following taonga Maori (Maori artefacts): one of the Kumiti waka used to haul cannon balls to the Ruapekapeka Pa; a wood carving representing the emancipation of a slave; and a portrait of Te Ruki Kawiti (grandfather of Kirihi Te Riri Maihi Kawhiti) painted by (or based on one painted by) Joseph Jenner Merrett. Photograph taken on a tour in Northland in 1929 during which Maori artefacts were collected for the Auckland Museum. Photographer unidentified, possibly D H Graham.
