The papers primarily deal with Mrs Colenso's care of Hare Pomare and wife Hariata, who visited England, 1863, and whose child, Albert Victor, became Queen Victoria's godson. Letters from D G Engleheart, Secretary to the Duke of Newcastle, and others, arranging details of audience with the Queen, 4 Dec 1863. Also letter from Mrs S Selwyn, 1881, and from W Fairburn to his daughter, 1836 (transferred from Misc MS 716).
