Description

Programme for a concert "under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor, Lord Islington, and Vice-regal party, the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Sir Joseph and Lady Ward, His Worship the Mayor and Mrs Wilford, Sir Robert and Lady Stout, Hon Jas and Mrs Carroll, Hon G and Mrs Fowlds, Hon Dr and Mrs Findlay".

The Rotorua Maori Mission Choir was assisted by Otaki Poi Party, Ngati Huia Haka Party and East Coast Waiata and Haka Party. Solo performers included Maggie Papakura and Mrs Pitt. Items included the Maori games Matemate and Tititourea, the Rotorua Male Quartette, a Koauau (nose flute) solo, Poi dances, songs of lament and a war dance or Peruperu by Ngati Huia.

There was also the chance of a programme on 27 and 28 July.
