Description

Photographs of costumed actors who performed in the Armed Services Operatic Society's production of "The Mikado" in Wellington in 1944. This was staged in the Grand Opera House and ran from Saturday, March 2 to Saturday March 9. It was produced by Eva Moore, and the musical director was Captain Harry Brusey.

The Armed Services Operatic Society was formed as a function of the Army Education Welfare Service. It flourished from ca 1944 to ca 1946 and drew actors from the camps of all three armed services.
