Postcard sent to a New Zealand address shows a central circular inset illustration of a sailing ship, with a handshake between a man and a woman at the top. The inset is surrounded by holly, suggesting that this was a card to be used at Christmas.
Verso has handwritten message from Charles to A Ellis, 91A Boulcott Street, Wellington: "I trust you bo[a]th spent a happy Christmas and hope you bo[a]th will see a bright and prosperous New Year"
