A view along the main street of a French town with ruined buildings on both sides. A German sign in the foreground reads 'Unterstand, 100 Mann' with an arrow. Another sign below it reads 'Weg von der Stape [?]. Hier sehen euch feindlicher Flieger'. Broken French signs in the foreground read 'Estaminet' and 'Casse d'Epargne'. Two Allied soldiers, one with his arm in a sling stand in the foreground, and four further soldiers stand in a group at a crossroads a little further back.
