A view in the bush looking up a stream whose bed contains large rocks in foreground, and a fallen branch further upstream. Ferns (or possibly young nikau) at right foreground, a tree fern upstream on left.
Proof, pasted on mount with platemark 315 x 445 mm. Letter press title. From a pencil drawing now in National Art Gallery entitled "Pigeon Bay" (acc. 501, formerly PSOA), reproduced as cat. 14 in Nicholas Chevalier, artist / by Melvin N. Day. Wellington, 1981
